Gene

"My mom and dad gave us away. I was 3 years old and my brother was 4. I can remember this very well. We went into the foster care system. That environment was not good at all. I was in the system until I graduated. Through all the 'bad stuff' in my life there was always that feeling that someone was looking out for me. On those quite nights, when I would sleep underneath the bushes at the Nazarene church or on their basement stairs, I realized there was someone there with me and I was not alone.  I used to go to church to get out of my other situations. At seventeen I finally realized who it was that was with me and what He had done for me. I was not a hopeless cause. I had nobody else. I now give Him my all. Everything I have and everything I do is centered around Him. He is my rock. I could tell you some things I've gone through that would make you fall. Things a child should never go through. "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life." John 3: 16. It's true! That is the answer for anyone going through depression or trials. That is the answer. There is more than light at the end of the tunnel. There is peace, joy and laughter. My life is based on my attitude. We have to choose. I have chosen to be happy. I have chosen to be joyful. Because we have to choose! Before I made that decision I got into His word to find out exactly who I was going to follow. We have to stand up for our Father. If we don't stand up for Him He will deny us. We are saved by grace. He did it for all of us! I don't waiver. We are to reflect Jesus Christ. If a person meets me they have been introduced to Jesus Christ. I was made in His image! We are to praise Him even in our tragedies. I chose to do that. My name is Gene and I surrender."
