“I was so empty and devoid of love. From the time I was five years old, I never felt loved. I was molested as a little girl, not by my family members. I was molested, day after day. I was kept in her constant care until my mom got off work. As a result of the trauma, I never liked or loved myself. I felt like I was the problem, I thought there was something wrong with me. I went through three years of incarceration, which is where the Lord actually got a hold of my heart. That’s where my heart changed and my mind got transformed. The Lord called me to go back to Jefferson City. I did not want to go. It was a place of destruction for me; all of my pain, rebellion, bad choices, broken and burnt bridges. The Lord had me start a vision journal, and that's where He revealed to me the vision for The Healing House and New Beginnings. Jesus knew the pain of my life. He used not only the pain, but the victory in Christ for me to go forward and help women just like me. The Healing House and New Beginnings was birthed from my own pain and trauma. My mom got saved when I was twenty. For fifteen years she prayed for me before I actually came to Christ. First my mama, then me, and then my children. Deuteronomy 30: 15-20, *choose life, became my mom’s life's scripture and the foundation for coming to the light of His love and breaking generational curses. “See, I have set before you today life and good, death and evil, in that I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in His ways, and to keep His commandments, His statutes, and His judgments, that you may live and multiply; and the Lord your God will bless you in the land which you go to possess. But if your heart turns away so that you do not hear, and are drawn away, and worship other gods and serve them, I announce to you today that you shall surely perish; you shall not prolong your days in the land which you cross over the Jordan to go in and possess. I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live; that you may love the Lord your God, that you may obey His voice, and that you may cling to Him, for He is your life and the length of your days.” My mom had Deuteronomy 30 put into a beautiful picture frame for me. Now each of my children have one, because I gave that to them. If you give Jesus the chance, He will do for you what no human hands could ever do. His Love changes everything!!
